Hand polishing on leather is a very traditional technique that is most often associated with razor sharpening. Leather is used for the final finishing, sometimes even after using hones with a grit of more than 8,000, but it can be used very successfully in place of such a stone.

It has two leather surfaces: flesh (first stage of polishing) and face (final polishing), thanks to which it allows to obtain an extremely smooth surface.
